Website Development Cost in Rajkot (2026 Price Guide)

What decides website development cost in Rajkot: site type, pages, design, features and platform, plus the hidden costs to ask about and how to get a quote.

Website Development Cost in Rajkot (2026 Price Guide)

Website development cost in Rajkot depends on five things: the type of website, the number of pages and features, how much custom design you need, the platform it is built on, and the running costs after launch. Two quotes for "a website" can be far apart because they describe different projects. This guide explains what drives the cost, what changes between small, medium and large projects, which costs people forget to ask about, and how to get an accurate quote.

We have deliberately left out price figures. Any number in a generic guide is either too vague to plan with or out of date within months. What helps you more is knowing which questions to ask, so the quotes you collect can be compared fairly.

What decides the cost of a website?

Most of the price of a website is the time a team spends on it. Anything that adds hours adds cost. These are the main factors.

Factor What pushes the cost up What keeps it lower
Type of website Online store, booking system, customer portal Simple business or brochure site
Number of pages Many unique page layouts, many product categories A few pages that share one layout
Design Fully custom design, animations, illustrations A well-chosen theme adapted to your brand
Features Payments, logins, integrations with CRM or ERP, multiple languages Contact form, WhatsApp button, map
Content Writing, translation and photography done by the agency You supply final text and photos
Platform Custom-coded web application WordPress or Shopify with standard features
Timeline A rushed launch date that needs extra people A realistic schedule agreed up front

Type of website

A five-page site for a Rajkot consultancy and an online store for a jewellery brand are different jobs. The store needs product pages, a cart, checkout, a payment gateway, order emails, stock management and testing of every payment path. A web application, such as a dealer portal for a manufacturer, adds user accounts, permissions and a database. Each step up adds planning, development and testing time.

Pages and layouts

What matters is less the page count and more the number of distinct layouts. Fifty product pages that share one template cost far less to build than ten pages that each need their own design. When you list your pages, mark which ones are unique (home, about, services, a landing page) and which repeat (products, blog posts, locations).

Design

A custom design starts from your brand and your customers, with wireframes, mock-ups and revision rounds. A theme-based design starts from an existing layout and adapts colours, fonts and images. Both can work well. Custom design costs more because of the extra design and revision time. If you don't have a logo or brand colours yet, that is a separate piece of work, usually done before the website. Our brand identity service covers it.

Features and integrations

Every feature that talks to another system adds work: payment gateways, shipping partners, a CRM, accounting software, an ERP or a WhatsApp API. Integrations also need testing and can break when the other system changes, which adds to maintenance later.

Content

Content is the item most often missing from a quote. Someone has to write the text for every page, select and edit photos, and prepare product descriptions. If the agency does it, the quote goes up; if you do it, the project often waits on you. Agree up front who supplies what and by when.

Platform

The platform affects both the build cost and the running cost.

  • WordPress suits content-heavy sites that your team will update often. It relies on themes and plugins, some of which are paid and renewed every year.
  • Shopify suits online stores that need to launch quickly. Shopify charges a recurring subscription for the plan, which varies by plan (Shopify Help Center), and apps from the Shopify App Store are billed as separate subscriptions.
  • A custom build (for example in Next.js and React) suits sites that need high speed, unusual features or a path to becoming a web application. It usually costs more to build but avoids some platform fees.

We explain the trade-offs on our web development page, and a later post on this blog will compare Shopify, WordPress and custom builds in detail.

How does cost change between small, medium and large projects?

Rather than price brackets, here is what typically changes as a project grows.

Small project Medium project Large project
Typical example Service business, clinic, consultant Growing brand, manufacturer with a product catalogue, small online store Large online store, portal, multi-language or multi-location site
Pages and layouts A handful of pages, few unique layouts Dozens of pages, several templates Hundreds of pages or products, many templates
Design Theme adapted to your brand Custom design for key pages Fully custom design system
Features Contact form, WhatsApp, map, basic SEO setup CMS, blog, enquiry forms by product, simple integrations Payments, logins, CRM or ERP integration, custom functions
Testing Main browsers and phones Wider device testing, form and checkout tests Formal test plan, staging site, performance and security checks
Team involved A developer and a designer Designer, developers, project manager Larger team, often with a dedicated project manager and QA
Timeline Shortest Medium Longest, often in phases

The jump from small to medium is usually driven by custom design and content volume. The jump from medium to large is usually driven by integrations, user accounts and the testing they need.

What hidden costs should you ask about?

These are the costs that most often surprise business owners after the first invoice. Ask about each one before you sign.

  1. Domain renewal. A domain is registered for a fixed period and must be renewed. Confirm it is registered in your company's name, not the agency's.
  2. Hosting. Ask who pays for hosting, which plan is used, and whether it can handle your traffic and store size. Hosting is recurring.
  3. Paid themes, plugins and apps. Many WordPress plugins and Shopify apps are subscriptions. Ask for a list of every paid add-on and whether its licence is in your name.
  4. Platform subscription. If you use Shopify, the plan subscription continues every month or year (Shopify Help Center).
  5. Payment gateway fees. Gateways charge a fee on each successful transaction. Razorpay, for example, charges a percentage of each successful transaction on its standard plan, with GST on that fee (Razorpay). On Shopify, using a third-party payment provider instead of Shopify Payments also adds a Shopify transaction fee (Shopify Help Center).
  6. GST on the quote. Website and software development services in India are taxable under GST (SAC 998314 for IT design and development) (Busy). Check whether a quote is inclusive or exclusive of GST so you compare like with like.
  7. Maintenance and updates. Software, themes and plugins need updates, backups and security fixes. Ask what is included after launch and for how long.
  8. Content changes after launch. Some agencies include a set number of edits; others bill each change. Ask how small changes are handled.
  9. Privacy and legal pages. If your site collects names, phone numbers or emails, you need a privacy policy. India's digital personal data protection law, passed by Parliament in August 2023, applies to digital personal data collected online (PRS Legislative Research). Ask whether the agency drafts these pages or whether you should get them from a lawyer.
  10. SEO and marketing. A new website includes basic on-page SEO, but ranking on Google takes ongoing work. That is a separate service, covered on our SEO page.

Why do cheap websites often cost more later?

A low quote is not always a bad quote, but check what it leaves out. Common problems with very cheap builds:

  • Slow, heavy pages. Pages built with too many plugins or unoptimised images load slowly, especially on phones. Google uses the mobile version of a site's content for indexing and ranking (Google Search Central), so a poor mobile site hurts both visitors and search visibility.
  • No access to your own site. If the domain, hosting or admin login sits in someone else's account, moving or changing the site later becomes difficult.
  • A rebuild within a year or two. Sites that are hard to edit or break when updated often end up being rebuilt, which means paying twice.

How do you get an accurate website quote?

An accurate quote needs an accurate brief. Follow these steps.

  1. Write down the goal. What should the website get people to do: call, send a WhatsApp message, fill a form, buy?
  2. List your pages. Mark which pages are unique and which repeat (products, services, locations, blog posts).
  3. List the features. Payments, bookings, logins, languages, integrations with tools you already use.
  4. Collect three to five websites you like. Note what you like about each, such as layout, speed or how products are shown.
  5. Decide who supplies content. Text, photos, product data and translations.
  6. Share your timeline and any fixed launch date. A trade fair, festival season or product launch.
  7. Ask every agency for an itemised quote. It should separate design, development, content, third-party costs and post-launch support, and state whether GST is included.
  8. Ask what happens after launch. Who owns the code, domain and hosting; what support is included; how changes are billed.

With the same brief in hand, you can compare quotes line by line instead of comparing totals that cover different work.

Frequently asked questions

Why do website quotes in Rajkot vary so much?

Because they often describe different work. One quote may use a ready-made theme with your text pasted in; another may include custom design, content writing, integrations, testing and a year of support. Ask for itemised quotes based on the same written brief.

Is it cheaper to use WordPress or Shopify than a custom website?

Usually the build is quicker on WordPress or Shopify because they provide ready-made features. But they come with recurring costs such as plugin licences, app subscriptions and, for Shopify, the plan subscription. A custom build can cost more up front and less in platform fees. The right choice depends on your features and how your team will use the site.

What ongoing costs should I budget for after launch?

Domain renewal, hosting, platform subscriptions, paid plugins or apps, payment gateway fees on each sale, maintenance and security updates, and any marketing or SEO work. Ask your agency for a written list of every recurring cost before you sign.

Does the quote include GST?

It depends on the agency. Website development services are taxable under GST in India, so always check whether a quote is inclusive or exclusive of GST before comparing.

Who should own the domain and hosting?

Your business should. Register the domain in your company's name and make sure you have admin access to hosting and the website. This keeps you free to change agencies later.
